چکیده

E. V. DiBella, E. G. Kholmovski UCAIR, Radiology, University of Utah, Salt Lake City, UT, United States Introduction: Myocardial perfusion studies acquire images of multiple slices in each heart beat. It is typically assumed that the bolus tracking images are uniformly sampled in time. This is often not an accurate assumption, since ECG (or vectorcardiography) triggers can be missed, arrhythmias can occur, and heart rate can change. It is not known to what degree the inaccuracy of the uniform sampling assumption affects semi-quantitative or quantitative estimates of perfusion.

The role of relative cerebral blood volume obtained from Perfusion Weighted Imaging-MRI in glioma tumor grading before surgery

Introduction: Glioma is the most common type of brain malignancy among adults. Treatment for this type of tumor involves surgery, radiotherapy, and in higher grades, including chemotherapy. The precise grading of the tumor is critical for treatment planning and prognosis determining. Considering the possibility of problems such as errors in tissue sampling during surgery, as we...

Split Bregman multicoil accelerated reconstruction technique: A new framework for rapid reconstruction of cardiac perfusion MRI.

PURPOSE Rapid reconstruction of undersampled multicoil MRI data with iterative constrained reconstruction method is a challenge. The authors sought to develop a new substitution based variable splitting algorithm for faster reconstruction of multicoil cardiac perfusion MRI data. METHODS The new method, split Bregman multicoil accelerated reconstruction technique (SMART), uses a combination of...

A methodology for generating normal and pathological brain perfusion SPECT images for evaluation of MRI/SPECT fusion methods: application in epilepsy.

Quantitative evaluation of brain MRI/SPECT fusion methods for normal and in particular pathological datasets is difficult, due to the frequent lack of relevant ground truth. We propose a methodology to generate MRI and SPECT datasets dedicated to the evaluation of MRI/SPECT fusion methods and illustrate the method when dealing with ictal SPECT. The method consists in generating normal or pathol...

Evaluating the Effect of Injected Dose of 99mTc- MIBI on the Quantitative Parameters of Myocardial Perfusion Imaging

Background: 99mTc-MIBI cardiac perfusion scanning is recognized as a clinically useful method in evaluating coronary artery disease. By the implementation of new imaging techniques and systems, it seems possible to obtain high-quality images with a lower dose of radiopharmaceuticals. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect of injection dose of 99mTc-MIBI on quantitative parameters ...

Mediated Spatiotemporal Registration of Cardiac DCE-MRI and Coronary MR Angiography

Patient-specific correlation of perfusion defects to coronary arteries which are responsible for blood supply in the affected territories has the potential to improve accuracy of diagnosis and intervention planning. The correlation of coronary arteries and perfusion defects can be established through registration of 3D angiography and 2D perfusion datasets. However, cardiac cycle phase mismatch...
